They didn’t have a meeting this month.

What if there’s an emergency at the church?
Say a small fire starts…Do we know where the fire extinguishers are located, for example.  So, in the unlikely chance that there’s a fire, there are two fire extinguishers in the corners of the Fellowship Hall, one by the boiler roomdoor and one by the entrance way, where the lite little tree is.  There is a small silver one hanging on the white pillar next to the small white sink in the kitchen.  Upstairs there is one hanging at the top of the stairs that go up to the balcony.  Another one is outside the lady’s restroom and there is a first-aid kit hanging on the side of the wooden cabinet in the kitchen.  We also have a new life saving machine called a Defibrillator that is used if someone should have heart problems.  Jayne Kornbau is the person who is knowledgeable on how it is used and when this coronavirus is over, she will be training others on how it is used.  We have the Defibrillator mounted on the wall in thefellowship hall.   So, the next time you’re in the church look for these and for the EXIT signs above the doors.

It was submitted by Shirley Madura in the book

             Mexican Fruit Cake

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of flour

3 teaspoons baking soda

2 eggs

1 cup of chopped nuts

1 (20oz.) can of crushed Pineapple with

Combine all ingredient.  Bake in 350-degree oven in 2 greased 8-inch pans for 30-35 minutes or 9×13 inch pan.

Wow!  How easy is that recipe.  Not too many ingredients either.  It sure sounds full proof.  My kind of easy baking and I’m sure it tastes good too.

Fall, Winter and Spring Worship Time?

During the Coronavirus we will be having worship at 10:00am only.  This is also being done because of the need to keep everything sterile as possible which would be very difficult if we had more than one service, social distancing, wearing a mask during the service, and the using of hand sanitizer.  The masks and hand sanitizer are always available when needed.  We are living through very difficult times because lives can be lost.  Everyone’s patience and understanding are very much needed at this most difficult time in all our lives.

Standard and Altar Shelf – 2020Flower memorials, honors and whatever you wish to acknowledge.  The charts are posted on the wall in the narthex.  They are only $15.00 and a perfect way to remember a person or event.  We have two different places the flowers can go, either on the Altar or in the Standard which is by the Pulpit.  You can put your request in one of the offering plates and we will make sure your request is taken care of.  Thank you

Speaking of flowers…Don’t the flowers look beautiful that are all around our church?  That is thank you to Linda Savach, Judy Kaszowski, Georgiana Bercik, Joanne Gerda and Stephanie BanjakThank you all for the wonderful care you give the flowers.  Our church property looks fantastic!

During these uncertain times we will not be asking anyone to be Greeters, Readers, or Ushers.  We must practice social distancing.  The offering plates and bulletins are being placed on the table in the back of the church.  We would appreciate if you put your offering in one of the plates on that table and Linda Chalupka and Kim Kaszowski will see that it is counted and deposited in the bank.

Please remember that we still have a special collection of loose change every first Sunday of the month for World Hunger and the third Sunday of the month a special collection of items needed for Joshua’s Haven.  Stephanie Banjak has volunteered to bring the items to Joshua’s for us.  Thank you, Stephanie.

We however are not collecting aluminum cans for Habitat for Humanity because they quite paying Habitat for them.

We also for many many years now have opened our doors for the American Red Cross Blood Drive to use our facility twice a month.  They chose to offer their blood drive the first and third Thursday of every month.   We are so happy to help.

View Finders Camera Club are also using our facilities beginning September 1st.  They meet the first, second and third Tuesday of every month.  Again, we are so happy to help.

A message from Patty,

I am writing this note with a heavy heart, sharing in the sadness of our congregation in the departure of Pastor Nelson.  It is surely a grave feeling of loss and loneliness when our leaders leave us.   But rest assured we are never alone.  We have each other and more importantly we have our Lord.  He has watched over us and blessed us with so many wonderful leaders, a beautiful building to worship in, and a church family that will be our rock in these times of transition and worry over Covid-19.  We have come through many a troubled time, and have pulled together, leaned on each other and prayed for guidance, and not once have we been abandoned.  We at Holy Trinity have found that harmony and love will pull us through the most difficult of times. With the Lord on our side and each other we can’t lose.  We will get through this together.

          God’s Peace and my Love,

All these people are remembered in our prayers every Sunday because a friend or family member ask for them to be put on the list which we do gladly.  If any one from our prayer list is doing well, please call the office so we can remove them.  Likewise, if anyone family member or friend needs special prayers please call the office so we can add their name.

The miracle of Life…

We are very pleased to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy, Master Ford Adare Livermore.  He is the son of Tyler & Sienna Livermore who currently live in California.  He weighed 6lbs. 2oz. and was 18 ½ inches long.  Mother and baby are doing just fine.  Ron & Karen Blosz are the proud grandparents of baby Ford. His great Aunt Kathy Crisan and third cousin Patty Boldish are happy beyond reproach as well.  May our Lord bless them with good health and happiness always.

Our church council meets the third Tuesday of every month in our church parlor because the fellowship hall is being used by the Camera Club.  So, council members please be sure to use the Sanctuary doors to enter the parlor.  Thank You

St. Anthony’s church on Idaho in Farrell will be having a

“Take Out Only” BBQ Chicken Dinner.  This will be happening on Sunday October 4th, 11:30am to 2:00pm.  They request everyone use the Sherman Ave. entrance when picking up their pre-order, which is all they are accepting.  To place an order call 724 342-2489 or 330-448-4577.  Deadline to order is Sunday September 20th.  Masks must be worn, and social distancing maintained.  They are offering ½ BBQ Chicken, Green Beans and Croatian Potato Salad for $10.00 or you could just order a whole chicken for $8.00 and they will have Halushki for $4.00.  Sounds good if anyone is interested and or has questions please just call them.  I can tell you that we have eaten their Fish dinners and they are delicious.  If that counts for anything.

PS   St. Anthony’s flyer is posted on our bulletin board in the narthex should you want to see it.

On Sunday August 16th not only was it the last day Pastor Nelson led us in Worship, but it also was the confirmation day of Carter Burns and Keegan WidmyerPastor Nelson had a very nice service and Marlene Sypolt and the Sunday School gave out cupcakes and bottled water with Carter and Keegan’s name on them.  The cupcakes were put in a to-go container and everyone took one of each home with them.  Thank you to Pastor Nelson for teaching them and giving them a strong knowledge of our faith and the Lord.

PS   Our thanks to Erin Sypolt as well for helping her mom get everything ready.

Sunday School News

It has been decided that we are going to postpone Sunday School until further notice.  We thought it would be best to let the kids go back in the school setting first and see how that goes.  If all goes well with that then we will start to make plans to bring the students back to Sunday School.  Our classrooms in the education wing are too small to be able to social distance.  We will be looking at holding our one room Sunday School in the fellowship hall.

Rally Day was schedule for September 13th, and this has also been cancelled.

Dear God, with a new school year upon us, we pray for our students and their teachers, that you would ease their anxiety about going back to school amidst the pandemic.  We pray for safety for those returning to in-person classes, and for the needed technology, self –discipline, and adult oversight for those learning online.  Would you ensure that every child has enough to eat, a supportive network of friends and family, and perseverance to face every challenge with your strength.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen

At the last council meeting they discussed an Evergreen Memorial Fund to help cover costs of planting special evergreen trees at the entrance/exit in our parking lot on each side.  The evergreens will help seeing the edges of the entrance/exit when we have snowy weather and the visibility is such that finding the entrance/exit are difficult.  The cost of these evergreens have yet to be established.  But when it is an announce will be in the weekly bulletin and newsletter.  So, we’ll be anxiously awaiting the costs.

take over 20 years to try them all.

 12.  You can survive without eating for weeks, but you will only live 11 days without sleeping.

 13.  People who laugh a lot are healthier than those who don’t.

14.  Laziness and inactivity kills just as many people as smoking.

 15.  A human brain has a capacity to store 5 times as much information as Wikipedia.

 16.  Our brain uses the same amount of power as a 10-watt light bulb!!

 17.  Our body gives enough heat in 30 mins. to boil 1.5 liters of water!!

 18.  The Ovum egg is the largest cell and the sperm is the smallest cell !!

 19.  Stomach acid (conc. HCL) is strong enough to dissolve razor blades!!

 20.  Take a 10-30 minute walk every day & while you walk, SMILE. It is the ultimate antidepressant.

21.  Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

22.  When you wake up in the morning, pray to ask God’s guidance for your purpose, today.

 23.  Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

 24.  Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, broccoli, and almonds.

 25.  Try to make at least three people smile each day.
